Jill began teaching Yoga in 2001. She is trained in Vinyāsa, alignment and philosophical methods via the Krishnamacharya lineage. In 2004, she co-authored the ever- popular primer, the YogaFan.
Jill is primary teacher of Yoga Philosophy for Sacred Sounds Yoga 200 and 500 HR teacher training programs in Manhattan.
She is a guest Yoga Philosophy teacher trainer at Ishta Yoga, Earth Yoga, Atmananda Yoga, Hosh Yoga , Dou-Yoga and Yoga 2.16 in NYC.
Jill currently teaches group, private and corporate āsana (posture) classes in Manhattan and Southern California. She also hosts Yoga and the Tarot workshops throughout the year.
Jill strives to present the ageless wisdom teachings in a contemporary and accessible manner for her students.
She received her advance teaching certification from Adrienne Burke, former Director of Jivamukti School teacher trainings and has studied anatomy and alignment with Beth Beigler, Ayurvedic Practitioner. Jill began teaching Yoga philosophy in 2007 thanks to Liz Mandarano, colleague and former owner of Yoga Effects school on the Upper East Side.
Jill currently studies Vedic Chanting and chanting the Yoga Su̅tras of Patañjali with Guta Hedewig, former Director of Yoga Sutra NYC and Philadelphia and current Director of The Yoga School NY.
Jill herself served as Director of Vinyasa for several years at Yoga Sutra NYC school.
It was there she completed numerous philosophy courses with Dr. Edwin Bryant and Christopher Hildebrandt. She also studies with Chase Bossart, and has had the honor to sit with his teacher, T.K.V. Desikachar, the son and student of Krishnamacharya.
Jill is also a long-time student of western esoteric philosophy, most notably Dion Fortune and Ken Wilber.
She is co-founder, with Suzanne Present, of the East Village School of the Occult Arts and Sciences. Both she and Suzanne completed all four parts of The Society of the Inner Light Correspondence Course over a two year study immersion.
